Frugal Friday – 7.10
Yard sales have become a ‘date’ for my man and I. He comes home for the weekend and we spend Fri morning together mosie-ing from one sale to another. Some days we spend as little as .50 (like we did last weekend) and this weekend, we spent a bit more… its a fun ‘us time’ and I am growing to love the time, even if we are looking at other people’s junk.
Today, a local town had their community-wide sales. Ah! Be still my heart! Bunches and bunches of sales in one area? Oh yeah, that’s the way we like it! We hit all 47 of them. Sales started at 9 and we were home by 12:30, including the 20 min drive home.
I love to get a good deal, being all cheap frugal like I am. But there are some things (like the planters today) that steal my heart and I don’t care the about the cost (within reason).

Cool beans! Do you find a lot of Christian fiction books?
@sez_who_sez_you - Trace – not too many, but I wasn’t looking. I got a bunch of these books to turn into the jail and give the people more to read. I haven’t a clue how much they have, but I do know when they go in, they can take things w/ them… but not bring them out. I figure no one takes a book to jail w/ them, ya know? Anyway… at .05 ea, woo hoo!
WOW what a fun day you had… I love the planters also… I would have grabbed them right away from you.. *grin*.. the pillows are great.. everything you guys did a great job.
Good finds. My finds of the day inclided a patch of sunburn on K’s back, a sand rash on her thigh, and sand in her hair. I also found that too much sun, sand and fun wears the boy out, and that if I don’t roll over after laying in the sun for a couple of hours, one side stays very white while the other gets really dark. I also found that digging a trench in the sand with the sand piled up on both ends makes for an extremely comfy place to lay down with my head proped up for reading / watching the kids, and my fat butt practically buried from view.
It was a good day.

I have a closet full of baby clothes from garage sales..my best friend got me going to them…fun too!! Your finds are great!@
